Please excuse my shaky computer terminnology, but run with me here. I recently bought some Sims expansion packs and I'd like to install them to the E: drive because the C: drive is full. Sadly, the only way I can figure out how to install them is through the autoplay screen, which doesn't let me get as far as choosing the directory I want - it just tells me C: is full and shuts itself down. What do I do?

You will probbly have to install The Sims to your 2nd hard drive for the expantions to work and install.

But as to your original question, you should be abel to manualy select the drive either by dropdown menu or by typing the letter.

First complete the following steps to make some space on your C drive.
1) go to start > all programs > accessories > system tools > disk cleanup. Run disk cleanup to delete unnecessary files from your C drive

2) Create a folder in E, and rename it as backup. Then copy everything from your "my documents folder" in C drive to this folder in E. That should make some space on your C drive.

3) Uninstall some unnecessary programs by going in control panel > add/remove programs. That will also free some space on your C drive. That will give you additional space.

There is a facility to transfer to another drive just watch the installation process carefully. I'd be more worried about your lack of room on drive C your computer must move with all the alaracity of a snail on valium

Use CCleaner to clean up your C: drive and free up some space, then try again. It needs to install temporary files first, and you don't have enough room. Having this low of space left will really slow down your computer too.

Shift your personal files and documents from C: onto E: (assuming E: is a hard drive and not a DVD or CDROM), re-install some non-essential software onto E: if you have to. It sounds like you can't install to anything but C: with that installer, bummer.
