Yes, we did. And in my opinion, we over-reacted, and what we've done to this point has been ineffective against the terrorists and detrimental to our country's overall image. I wish we had responded covertly, and fought against terror with government undercover agents who are equipped to infiltrate the terror cells rather than standing our army in front of people in Iraq against the infiltrators, and making them targets for every nut with an axe to grind.
And if I live to be 100, I'll never understand why we didn't remain to finish the job we had begun in Afghanistan and continue to try to find Osama bin Laden.

What's there to discuss? The terrorist are terrorizing the world and I am not scared. Each individual has to deal with the fear. If the governments of the world were not doing anything about the safety and well being of the global community you would want to discuss why the governments are doing anything about it. The goal of the terrorist is not to control our behavior pattern, their goal is to wipe out as many people that don't agree with their belief in living, which is to ultimately die and take others with you. Now if we converted to their thinking we would all killed ourselves and take a bunch of people with us and then, the world would be desolate. They aren't very bright people are they? The actual men who are the terrorist are the result of being brainwashed by power hungry leaders, who preserve their own life to be a successful tyrant. Kill the queen ant and you've killed the whole colony. Terrorism is ignorance at its best.

Well what do you expect, Bush does suck. As for terrorism, that is exactly what they want to happen, they want to alter our lifestyles and to change our way of life. Bush has with the patriot act done exactly what they wanted. They have changed our lives forever. They win. We have no hope of killing them all and with Bush helping to recruit with the war in Iraq it is a much harder job today then it was 5 years ago.

Terrorism of any kind is hard to deal with.
By its very nature it is, a secret and terrible act ,
created by carefully trained individuals ,
Human life, is of no concern to these ,so called factions
Whose aim is to create the maximum fear, damage ,death and destruction , ( of the perceived target) as is possible to do.
They always choose the unexpected ( soft targets )
Strong government and strong willed people, with determination for what is good and right , (PEACE)
will go a long way to defeat this horrible "modern" slaughter of innocents
As with all bullies , they turn and run when confronted.
to eradicate the terrorist threat , all these factions need to be disarmed , and restricted from re-arming or regrouping .
This needs to be done with strength and if need be force .
These fanatics are not easy to recognise ,until it is too late .
We must all be as vigilant as possible, with regards, to the entry or movement of people.into public places .
This is time consuming expensive & ,Irksome - BUT VITAL ,
to reduce the opportunities of such people to harm us
.
Fear of the unknown murderer, is a negative reaction.
we should deter and eventualy stop them, by every means posible .

War OF terror. I wish it was me that coined that phrase, but alas, I wasn't. It is amazing how a bunch of religious fanatics can humble a nation of 300 million peoples with the best military ever assembled since the Romans of 50BC. Unbelievable. I must say that there are many of us who did not act in a cowardly way and started fearing our own shadows and hating difference.

I don't think they really have. We rallied 5 years ago out of resolve, not out of fear. And since then, life has continued. We wake up, we go about our days, and while I won't be traveling to Syria or Iran any time soon, I do not make my choices in life based out of fear.

Of course Terror frightens.
What are the options, remain indifferent?
but fear also creates reaction, and reaction could end terror.
Terror in the streets is not a philosophical issue, you either react or you wait your turn to die.

Yes. But terrorism isn't just about posing fear. They have killed thousands of innocent people out of sheer ignorance.

I'm a muslim which means my religion is Islam. It really hurts when people all over the world started to call Islam as the religion of terrorists. Islam means peace and most Muslims still believe in that. Just like any other beliefs and religions, there are good believers and there are bad ones. Please don't discriminate us for our religion. we all brothers and sisters. i strongly believe in worldpeace=D
