WCW & ECW were bought by WWE & then closed down (ECW has now restarted).
Personally, had I bought WCW, I would have kept it running as a "separate" company & had run-ins & cross-organisation torunaments - WWE vs. WCW like Summerslam or something like that. Would have been great fun & provided more air time for the huge pool of wrestlers.

Vince and The WWE bought the rights to it and bought out Ted Turner. Now a lot of former WCW stars are either in WWE or the newer TNA wrestling.

i agree completly with dryheatdave, i have said this for the last 5 years. but....having seen the pile of crap ecw is now im glad they didnt.
