No. If you listen to some quality rap (maybe some older Dr. Dre), you will note considerably complex layering of tracks, with patterning and structure similar to what one finds in Bach's fugues -- though the emulation is almost certainly unintentional! I was a skeptic at first but have come to appreciate some rappers' work both for its musical composition and for the lyrics.

Your addendum trying to distinguish between the words and the things the words refer to is foolish, I'm afraid. The words have no meaning apart from their meaning, and an oxymoron depends on contradictory meaning among the terms. You can not logically separate the words from the music they refer to while asking whether the meaning of the words is inherently self-contradictory.

that's a rather previous asserting. of course that is unique if somebody got here up with it. Rap isn't music. that is merely speaking whilst there's a beat interior the history. It shouldn't classify as music. nevertheless i don't ideas Eminem, Lil Wayne and Drake did turn it rather undesirable. all people in charge for YOLO destroyed despite kind they're in.

No.

I'm not a huge rap fan (more into Static-X & Rob Zombie). But I did like some of Eminem's music (it's not a white thing - I just can't understand the accent of many of the black rappers). But with Eminems songs like Mosh - it's a regular tune, with the lyrics laid on top - great tune.

Exactly right.
Rap is actually percussion, and may usually have a melody behind it as accompaniment. The words are used as rhythm instruments.
Music would have a melody or tune to follow.

This doesn't disparage rap as an art form, or method of expression. Rap is, however, mislabeled as music, and should be in the category of speech performance art.

Although rap is not actually "singing", does it change the fact that the rap is put to a beat, melody and rhythm like any other song, that being the MUSIC?

could be, but then again it all depends on your perspective. Not a fan of most rap, but there are definately worse things in music. lol
