I only mean mental characteristics. And I am male.
I think that a real man is a man who is in touch with the full range of his feelings but also has plenty of self-control. It can be scary to realize that you can cry or think that something is beautiful but you aren't much of a man if you're too scared to cry. Limiting yourself to a few emotions is stupid and does nobody any favors. A real man has a code of honor. He does whatever he can to help people less advantaged than himself.
A real man protects and provides for his family and friends. A real man will try to avoid conflict but won't hesitate to smash some guy's face in if his family is threatened.
Basically, I think that real men are brave, honest, stalwart and in touch with themselves.
What do you think?
