Because is a moron and knows Ahmadinejad will make him look like an idiot in front of the whole world.
Because Bush can't speak in his own words (google 'bushism' to see his past attemps to go solo).
Because Bush knows other then "you're an islamic state" and "i don't like you" he has nothing else new to say.
In all honesty, Ahmadinejad MIGHT be going after nuclear fuel. I mean this is something our own gov't should be exploring not preventing other gov't from exploring. Bush wants the voters to think he is for alternate fuel yet he barely explores alternate fuel options. Oil WILL run out fast, at the rate we consume it, it can even run out with a 100 years. Its about time Bush and right-wingers acknowldge that there is life beyond oil.

Debates lead credence to viewpoints, and allow the debaters to share a stage on an equal footing. Ahmadinejad needs that. He can ignore his previous statements that the Holocaust never happened, and that Israel must be annihilated. He can ignore the fact that he is a dictator controlled by a mullah zealot, that has eliminated free speech, free press, and politcal expression. He can ignore the facts that his nation is supporting terrorists, and that their economy is in dire straits. He can continue to claim he has the right to Nuclear, and that it is only for peaceful purposes, just as his twin Kim il Sung did, until he demanded cash to suspend his nuclear missiles. Then he can scream anti american imperialist jargon, to try and build National pride at home.
Best thing for the US, and any president to do, is ignore him. Eventually, without focusing his impoverished people upon the deeds of the US, he will be overthrown.

He doesnt want the average american citizen to see that ahmadinejad isnt the terrorist he makes him out to be. Hes afraid that is the american public knows he wants to make nuclear energy not nuclear weapons, he will have nothing to control them with. THis administration wont admit oil is running out even though it is a well known fact that intelligent people acknowledge. Now doesnt it seem odd that a country that is supposed to have lots of oil , is looking for alternative energy supplies? Christ you idiot bush supporters not everyone who wears a turban and speaks with an accent is a terrorist ok? Islam not bad, Muslim people not bad.Your misguided sense of fear and pathetic loyalty to a president that could give a **** about you is bad.

Bush doesn't debate with anyone. He barely does live interviews and press conferences. If it can't be scripted, Bush doesn't do it.
Besides, he's too busy being on vacation in Texas.

Ahmadinejad has a p.h.d and is well aware of his facts of the C.I.A., and America,s foreign policy objectives ...do you really think that Bush could seriously debate someone who has his facts straight against bushs "pack of lies"?

Why should he? It was just to deflect attention from Iran's enrichment of uranium. A debate won't deal with the issues. The fact is that a madman is developing weapons grade plutonium, thinks death is great- even of his own people- has vowed to destroy his enemies, and is within striking distance of Israel.
Why am I getting thumbs down for pointing out the facts? Facts are facts. Hate the president if you want. I don't care. I don't love him either. But the facts don't change, even if the president does!

coward puppet president with no ability to debate with anyone! It has nothing to do with american pride or refusal to debate or reason with terrorists. Those who hold GWs hand through every little issue do not want him publicly humiliated by his inability to make inteligable points. Its bad enough that he still speaks in public to the american people!!! Didnt you see the presidential debates? The worst in HISTORY!!!!!

Because Ahmed-jihad is beneath him. For Bush to even say a word to the terrorist would degrade the Office of the President.
