You won't be able to fit it all in one holiday. depending on what you like:- The red light area is booming and fun you have the choice of cafe bars to get stoned or drunk plus meet some interesting people or totally strange ones day and night. The windows are 24hr if your into that. sex shows, peep shows whatever you fancy and its good not sleazy,A good laugh, their are museums sex museums. Getting around is easiest, bus. tram, metro but you cant beat a bike in the dam much quicker and you have your own lane, there are plenty of good markets the shops r fantastic, leidseplein is great to be day time just sit outside and take it all in or night time is very lively. try following happy hour pub to pub always busy and the down to earth workers are their too. Go on the canal cruise/ flower market/anne frank house/Heineken's brewery/see whats on at the RAI the exhibition centre.I could be here all night just have fun and don't forget to keep plenty of change for toilets,most places you HAVE to pay.

All kinds of stuff you could do in amsterdam on september 23rd (that's your question, right?) Maybe if you gave us an idea of stuff you like and stuff you don't like to do and then we could help?

Definately make reservations for dinner at the Supper Club.
I'm sure the boys on here will offer you some of their worldly wisdom for after dinner...lol!

go to a ' coffee shop ' not a cafe a coffee shop - they will have jamaican colours on them - rasta colours - yellow green etc..
ask for a ' space cake ' then go for a walk and enjoy the adventure
