No, that is not oppressive. Some people actually think that honest work is a good thing! Just because it's not a "glory job" does not mean it's oppressive. Treat well, pay well and I think you will have a clear conscience!

If you hire a legit housekeeper, and pay them according to standards, then no, you aren't an oppressor. It's their job.

This is SUCH a foolish question! People who are oppressed, don't get the opportunity to decline the possibility. They don't get paid for work they do! Are YOU oppressed at work because you are expected to do things to get a paycheck? If you are so worried about this, don't hire one and do the work yourself like most of us have to!

If you hired them they would ask for wages up front, I doubt you would choose the pay to give them. How you treat them after you hire them might be the difference. But if you mistreated them chances are you would be sued and rightfully so.
