I don't think it is, no. It isn't as if the dead are going to complain about someone needing a place to sleep staying there. I think you may need to grow a heart.

I think its disrespectful to the homeless people, not the dead. I know the saying is we should respect the dead, however they dont know who's there sleeping at night, and if they are in heaven, I'm sure they would be relieved that the land is being used for more than housing dead people. I think the church should've opened its doors to these people instead. Let us not forget that they are still people. They are human beings, and some of them that are out there, made a crucial mistake in their lives that cost them everything. Let's stop being cruel, and start looking out for our "fellow Americans"!

I think it is a bit disrespectful to allow people to live in graveyards, which are places where respect should be observed. However - the problem of homelessness is growing so I can also understand why new solutions are being tried & tested in order to combat this social problem. Hope this helps :)

It's a tough one - I personally would not be bothered - the homeless have to sleep somewhere - and a lot of them use graveyards anyway.

It is highly unusual for a homeless person to deface or destroy property, it's more likely to be teenagers with too much time on their hands.

And anyway, the dead can't complain - imagine the uproar if they opened up a homeless hostel in your road for example!!

In a way it is because its a peaceful area for the dead, where people come to give their respect n stuff, but its a good thing at the same time. Homeless people now have a place to go whereas before they didn't.

I think it's disrespectful to the families of the deceased, who might want to visit the grave of their loved one and not find some homeless person sleeping on it!

No, why would the dead people mind? It seems like a good short term answer to a very real problem. I think people are far too sensitive where death is concerned!! Dead people aren't bothered by anything!!

i guess it depends on your point of view on what happens after death. i think that the families of some of the people who are buried there might have something to say about it!

it seems like another way to avoid spending council money.

No, graveyards are like golf courses. They are both a tragic waste of real estate.
