the real meaning of true friendship is someone who is always there for you, like your mom or dad, in some cases, I do not know what your situation is with your parents but if you can go to your parents and tell them anything any friend should be the same way and not put you down, they should be encouragable if they think you deserve what ever you look for in life, they know everything about you like your parents did when you were growing up, someone who does not start things on you and is always there even if there miles from you, a true friend is your friend cause they like being around you, and talking with you, and there always honest even if it may hurt your feelings.

Friendship, love happiness - they are all feelings are are highly person oriented. One cant define such things. A person might find a rose very beautiful while another may find the face of Kate winslet much better than rose!!
Please let your heart feel the freidship rather than letting your brain trying to define it- brain is good just for rational and logical thinking!

Its about knowing each others secrets and being able to confide in the other no matter what you have done. ITs about not judging your behavior and supporting the decisions you make even if they dont' always agree with them. Its about accepting you for the person you are on the inside as well as the outside.
