I have found many people who actually think about their answers when answering a question. Others you know are just playing the fool which is a shame as they have lost the opportunity to learn something of value, or try to impose their beliefs on others.

I brood over the question, draft the answer, spell check, preview it, then modify it, if necessary, and then only my answer takes the final form.

If I really know the answer and know that someone will benefit from my cocktail knowledge, I mean I'm only like Jeopardy smart. Then there are the times that the question is so outrageous I leave whatever pops in my head. I also feel that the dogmatic people just need to go away, and not be pushy.

depends on the question. If it's something I know about, it just comes off the top of my head. Other answers I have to put some thought into.

It depends upon the question being asked.

If the question is inane or so totally oddball I take less time to answer (usually answering with something smarmy or oddball in return).

If the question is "serious", then I will take the time to think and/or research the answer before jotting it down.

It's not always the same. Sometimes something sarcastic will pop into my head, especially when it's a dumb or made-up question. Other times when it's serious, I will put some thought into it.

Depends on which section I am in. If I'm in Polls and Surveys I'm just here for the fun and spontaneity. So I don't seriously consider, I am just flippant. In a serious category I am more thoughtful.------- (except this time I am being serious, so that rule isn't set in stone!)
