my friend of 10 yrs and i work together now. its been 6 months,.
ive been at my job, 7 years!!
now my ex-friend is driving me crazy!!
i have caught her in many lies lately(little white ones) lies are lies 2 me.
she is the most irritating person i know. she has constantly got to be interupting me, trying to hug me and everyone.
telling jokes that are not funny.
after last lie i confronted her! i told her exactly how i feel.
ive asked her to quit .
she drives 25 minutes per day to irritate me..lol.
in her town there are more jobs.
she has quit several , says ppl are mean to her. i wonder why!!
she cannnot stand correction.
iam one of the managers over her. she gives out wrong food alot too. i dont feel that i need 2 be the one 2 write her up.she may say its personal.
i have changed my schedule this week to avoid her.
we always work same days & hours.
how can i really get rid of her fast?
i dont want her hurt or anything, just away from me!!!
sos. any ideas??

why not just tell her to chill; that you two aren't like you used to be, and tell her why. Don't give her power over your day. And as a manager, sometimes you have to do what you have to do. But just make certain that what you write her up for is a genuine problem. For, look at it this way: If it is a genuine problem; that you've seen (especially over some time), and you haven't said anything about it, it could come back on you. Perhaps you hadn't said anything in the past about it because of your relationship with her; but even then, she was trying your relationship, and using her connection with you to get away with substandard service. Remember; as a manager it comes back on YOU.

Are you willing to risk that for her?

Just remember; as long as your concerns are well founded. You do what you have to do. Warn her first. (That's CYA, if you know what I mean). And if the substandard work continues... well... it's not like you didn't warn her. Right?
