Absolutely not! Just because a couple gets married does not mean that one has control over the other! You need to do what makes you comfortable and if that involves NOT wearing a bowtie, then don't! Your wife should love you for who you are and for your likes and interests as well. If you weren't wearing bowties before you married her than don't start now if you don't like them! Besides, I'm sure most people would find it absolutely ridiculous! Who wears them anyways? Good luck!

If you asked her to wear something she didnt want to wear.. would she do it? Dont wear something your going to feel uncomfortable in.. it'll only ruin the evening and you'll end up resenting her for making you do it! Just tell her nicely that you would prefer to wear something of your own interest as you would with her! She'll understand! You could even suggest wearing it to bed instead.. that way she still gets what she wants therefore you cant go wrong! Lol Good luck x

Wear is the event? And how young are you? You have to be pretty funky and hip to pull off a bow-tie.....or VERY old. My hubby could, and would do it....but then again he's covered with tattoos and sports a pompadour. If your average Joe, and She's the girl next door.....it might look a little silly and out-dated. t all depends on the who, waht and where.

a bowtie? i'm thinking with a tux or on bozzo the clown, but on a date? If a tie is required, do not wear a bowtie...I'd be thinking, what a dork!

See if she will compromise and let you wear a neck tie, those are much sexier!! And also easier for a woman to take off a man, when the time is right!

well, you don't want to upset her by saying no, but you need to feel confortable and at ease too, and if you don't want to wear a bow tie, talk to your wife and if that doesnt work see if you can get away with wearing a tie - they're much easier and - I think - look much better on a man.

Tell her no!!! Are you a hen-pecked hubby then? Ask her who wears the trousers in your house.
