My bf is my sisters bf's best friend. The weird thing is my other sister is with one of his friends too. There is a 6 year difference and my bf is my sisters age. I am an adult, but she thinks i can do better than him because he is a truck driver. I come from a family where everyone makes over 100,000 a year and they think of people by how much money they make. My bf treats me better than any guy ever has. My sister constantly calls him names and thinks of him as a low life i ask her why and she says im too good for him. this really hurts me and my bf. No one else in my family has a problem with me and him together besides her. What do i do? Family comes first but she is being just ridiculous.

If you haven't already you need to sit down with your sister and explain how you feel for your BF to her. Tell her how you feel when she berates him....tell her how much she means to you and how much you value her in your life. You don't want this to come down to a choice between them. You need to take a stand. Be gentle, but be firm. Good luck.

Your sister is afraid for you. She knows that money is important in a relationship, but so too is love and kindness. Just because he does not make a 100,000+ per year, does not mean he isn't good with money, or that he won't have more in the future [if he invests it wisely]. Therefore, if she is truly interested in trying to help, why not ask her to suggest ways in which he could better invest his money to achieve the goals that would make you both happy?

if you are okay with it and your family supports your decision then you may ignore your sister. Ask her to tell you once and for all why she thinks the guy is not good enough. If she is unable to give any satisfactory reply then you decide what you want to do. its your life after all. on the other hand think again about the financial status of the guy.. hope it doesn't trouble you later in life. Always listen to your mother!
Consider the reasons that she gives for not liking him.
Then it is up for you to decide for yourself.
The life of a truck driver is hard, many are on the road a lot.
But the end decision is yours alone, you are an adult.

First of all who do u wanna live with forever Your sister or your boyfriend???? If u care so much about ur sister ur gonna loose the Love of your life (rich or poor). BEING RICH OR POOR doesn't matter! You need somebody to make u happy somebody who actually cares about u and ur feelings. I mean think about it would u rather want a poor sweet guy who cares about u or would u rather want a spoiled rich guy who cares about sex and thats about it?
It doesn't matter wat ur sister thinks. If u love this guy GO FOR HIM! If not then let him go no point in hurting him.

If her only reason is because he doesn't make enough money, then she is being very shallow, and you should ignore it. If she really feels that he is wrong for you emotionally, then you should thoughtfully consider what she has to say, and determine for yourself if she is right or not. In the end, it's your decision to make.
