Brothers are naturally protective and don't want to think about their sister in that way. Also they don't want to hear their buddy talking about their sister and the things that they do behind closed doors. TMI! Plus they don't want to see their sister get hurt and if the two break up then he may lose a friend and be placed in the middle of the situation. That's absolutely NO fun!

2 main reasons:
1 Protective towards sister - they know what men think and would like to do, and cannot imagine their sisters in such a situation.
2 Worlds Colliding - the 'mates' world colliding with the 'family' world. Most of the time you in 'mates' world is not the same as you in 'family' world. And when worlds collide, not only is there potential leakage of information across the wolrds, but also if the relationship ends and the worlds are apart, it is likely that your 'mate' is no longer one. You lose a mate.

It's a protectionist response. they don't want their sister taken advantage of or emotionally hurt in any way. Think of it as a deep down good thing about men- it just doesn't always come out that way.
Also- they may know a bit more about their friends than their sister does, and have some pretty good reasons why they don't trust their friends to treat their sister with the respect (they believe ) she deserves.

men feel a need to protect their sisters because they love them. Also it is difficult to think of a family member in a sexual way. These things combined are more than reason enough for men to become weird with their friends dating or liking their sisters

there many reasons why men don't want their friends to date
their sisters.
1) his friend knew more about him than his sisters knows.
2)His Friend might be a player and he knows that and would not want him ( his friend) to hurt his sister or treat her bad.
3) He might lose his friendship if his sister broke up with his friend.
4) his friend might reveal any secerts about his brother to his sister and his sister might do the say thing .
5) he might revenge with a fight if he caught him cheating on his sister or his Friend treat her bad which will end their relationship.

I guess men are more protective about sisters..than woman are for brothers. It is also part of a natural instinct.

men get disturbed when their mates appear to fancy their sister, because they know how they think about their mate's sister and let me tell you - its not very nice !! :)
so basically a man knows what another man is thinking about the sister coz thats exactly how he would think about others sisters !
