I have this friend who just gets on my nerves. She thinks she knows it all. She tries to live through me and my roomate. She drives me crazy. How can I tell her that she needs to back off and leave me alone sometimes. Example last night me, my roomate, and her went out. She doesn't drink so she is the DD. It was early in the evening and she kept trying to push drinks on me. I was like I will drink when I am ready. She just kept on. That kinda stuff you know.m Please help me.

I don't have an issue with my roomate. This friend is actually my roomates friend. She is always at my house and will not leave. We have to fall asleep for her to leave at like midnite. Crazy I know!!!

i'll just tell her straight in the face. i have a friend like that too. we sort of got into a quarell after that but now we're ok except that i learn to avoid mixing too much with her. as for you i guess you just tell her in a nicer way (i didnt do that) and make sure she gets what you mean or else it's pointless. just be frank with her. she should except critism with an open heart. if she gets angry, too bad but I think you'll feel better without her. =)

I don't understand why you feel she is a friend. I have been a person who decided years ago not to drink. No one should push any type of drink on another person. To be honest I find this rather unsettling. The best thing is to sit down with her and be honest. If she can not see your point of view what kind of a friend is she in the first place. To be honest I would slowly leave her out of any plans if she fails to understand your feelings. A friend is someone who will give you time and space to enjoy your company. Just be honest with her and let the chips fall where the may. If she walks away this friendship was never meant to be.

I would write her a letter and list my terms. I would tell her exactly what's on my mind. I'd slip the note to her in a covert way. Use the under the door or mailbox to do your work for you. Stay clear of her for a few days and see what happens next then.

Take a break from her .. if you don't like spending time with her then don't.

You say "Back off, you're getting on my nerves". Or you could try to find a new roommate, and when your lease is up get the hell away from her.
