How do you transfer a downloaded video into a video ipod? Plz help! i'm trying this for almost a year!?

I have a video ipod that i bought in FEB, 06 and need help transferring videos that are already downloaded on my computer. plzzzzz

If dragging the file into your iTunes library and connecting your iPod gives you an incompatible format message, you need to convert the downloaded video to the .mp4 format the iPod uses. On my Mac I use a utility called iSquint; I gather a program called Videora does the same thing for a Windows PC.
