Just remember that the older you get the wiser and knowledgeable you get with the time. Experiences and the more you see and get of life. Age is nothing but a number, it's what's inside that really counts....

okay I have to share this with you. Just received it from my friend and was asked to send it to 5 phenomenal women. I am sure there are lots of them here on Yahoo.

Maya Angelou was recently interviewed by Oprah (on her show) for Dr. Angelou's 74th birthday.
Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older.
And, there on television, she said:- "It was "exciting." Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day... like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist first, she said. The audience laughed so hard they cried. Dr. Angelou also said: "I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life. I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life." I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance. I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back. I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one. I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. I'! ve learned that I still have a lot to learn. I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

Well, I'm not afraid OF getting old; I am afraid that I already AM old. I've achieved almost all of my dreams on my own, without any help from others, not family or anyone... but I'd like to be around to help more achieve their dreams; it's been a good ride although the road did get a little bumpy sometimes...

Yet, I think of those friends that will never get old, because they died so young. They left so many dreams unfulfilled, they made others cry when they left and some of us still miss them terribly, like my older brother, my friends (Ralph, Esther) and a few people that I wish I had met (Christopher Reeve) and some that I doubt I will ever meet. I hope I don't leave a tremendous void as my older brother did when he took his life, he was so young and yet he never realized how many people loved him, how many more admired him and he'll never know all the suffering he caused us all... me, his younger brother, his children, our mother... and life goes on, as if they meant nothing, people have gone on with their daily lives... I wonder how many people stop and think of those that are no longer here as I do?

Insofar as my hair, hey, I'm just turning platinum blond, one hair strand at a time... hahahahaha...

After taking the last four intercept calls at work, I'm not afraid of growing old at all. I'm afraid of the dumbing down process & I'm terrified of losing a whole bunch of common sense. Dreams come & go, some of them you'll attain and others will transform into something new. Beauty will always fade unless you're able to pay for surgery that could end up leaving you looking like a plastic distorted doll. And remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

This is an odd question because as you grow older you become a bit wiser and with wisdom comes knowledge which causes you to realise that you have much to learn that only comes with age. So, you no longer fear growing older because it is the way you learn.

No, I'm not afraid of growing old. I'm afraid of the pain I will suffer in my 70's 80's or 90's but this is the nature's way of telling you that your time is up and that you are not immortal.

No man or woman at their young age think and afraid of old age. Only they think ..when they are growing old. And the body and mind adjust for the change.

I"m not really scared of growing old. My biggest fear is not being able to take care of myself when I get older. If I can be independent when I get older, versus living in a nursing home, I will be fine.

Me. I work in a nursing home as a cna and the residents I care for is not whom I would want to become, but then again I don't think they would have chosen this lifestyle for themselves either

Me, not for vanity really (well a little) but more for greed, I don't want to die, I'm afraid of death.
