previously I had no problems, but now I find that even opening a simple email can take 3 or 4 minutes.

Yep, don't know which hub you have, however I have the Voyager 2091. Initially I had superb access, which gradually slowed to a constipated slugs pace. Excuse me while I get the cork out of my wine. A number of things I have found that help, you can't leave your router on permanently. You have to shut it down after each session. Get as much ventilation around it as you can, they over heat, clear the cookies from time to time and finally, last but not least is the BT Firewall and AV software. It's a nightmare. I have deleted mine and uploaded EZ Antivirus. I don't have many problems now at all.

i am with bt an have the hub the same as you. yes sometimes this can be quite a simple problem. if you have a lot of downloads on your computer it can cause the hub to run slower. if this is not the case then it could be the wrong anti virus that is installed. Norton anti virus is the worst one to have on bt chose something else the hub will run faster. if these problems are not the reason do a system recovery on your computer an reinstall bt Internet then it will run faster its happened to me loads of times any more problems with the bt hub contact me on lisawinter22@btinternet.com an il be happy to help

If you have DSL more people could be getting on at the same time as you and cause slowing of your ISP's bandwidth. If so try to go on at odd hours

as they introduce faster programmes they reduce tghe existing ones to get you to buy the new one. They wont admit to this but its true.Or if you dont pay your bill on time they cut yiu oiff for 2 hrs a night as a gentle reminder.
