I will answer this in a reverse sort of way to avoid much conflict..... I can't say who is the least friendly, but so far, as much as we have traveled... I have found the most friendly people and helpful people in the St Paul./ Minneapolis area. I have been raised in the south and heard "southern hospitality" all of my life, but these people were the greatest!

I am not really sure, Michigan is pretty bad. I live in NC and people everywhere here where I live are real friendly. Like, people who AREN'T from here don't know how to take us, because everyone that passes by waves at everyone else. In a sense I guess it's weird, but I would choose no other place to raise my two girls safely.

I am Not American, i began doing business with people in the states just about a year ago and im overjoyed to say they have all been really really good to me, even though im not American. The other person who said its difficult to find good people in the US and all those other people who say so are totally baised and prejudicial about their views, if your mind is blocked and you have a negative attitude you will find everyone bad. I met a partner who i began doing business with in Ohio and he actually gave me his SSN after 6 months. Hes normally very skeptical but he said he really trusted me and loved me as a brother. We're really thick now and our familes have become great friends too. Ive dealt with people in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, New York, California, Nebraska etc. and all of them have always understood me and respected me tremendously. Ive been to Singapore, Hong Kong, India, Dubai etc. and people who call Americans rude are really like FROGS in a well who dont know the outside world, theyll just keep complaining all their lives, really unfortunate. I will say this though the only place i found people a little cynical and rude in the USA was in Bronx, otherwise theyve all been angels. Best part is a year ago i was financially in a crunch and i laid this out to all i was doing business with, they all cooperated with me incredibly even though i was just making promises then, they recognized me as genuine and helped me throughout. Thats very difficult to find in any other country. I love you America and thank you deeply.
If you are not proud of the USA being American, youll never be proud of anything for long!

I'm always hearing from people that New York is unfriendly but I live in UPSTATE New York, not New York City and I find most people to be friendly and nice. When I lived down south they were less friendly, believe it or not. They'd call you 'honey' but it was mostly surface friendliness.

All of them. People are mean everywhere. You have to look hard to find the good people. Just take a drive down the interstate of any state in this country and you will find that out. Thank you.

East coast metro areas (New York, Philly, D.C., Boston) are unfriendly. The pace of life is much faster and people just don't have time to wave, make eye contact, and chat.
I lived up there for awhile.
Go west and life is much slower.

New York. They don't have time for anyone. I met a guy who once said that the problem with NYC is that there are a ton of things to do, but there are 3 million people who want to do them with you. That would get old really fast.
