Last night I got pulled over on the 407. I got caught doing 151km/h in a 100km/h zone. It was at night and the hwy was busy. I was in the inside lane and was being passed by another car on my left. I'm not saying that I wasnt speeding, but how do I know it was my car that triped the radar? what would the best way to handle this in court?

If you are admitting to going over the limit, you are done!
If you feel you can't stretch the truth (as cops often do!!!) you may as well pay the fine and forget it.
If you use words like I think or I believe in court, you are guilty.
You gotta be totally positive about NOT having exceeded the limit.

I fight most tickets, and have often thought if (nearly) everyone fought their tickets, the judicial system would break down and they would have to stop this type of harassment.
When driving in Germany for about a year, I realized how idiotic the American and Canadian speed laws really are.
If I stay within the speed limit here, I am inclined to fall asleep in the middle of the day. In Germany I didn't feel sleepy even at 2 am, since I was driving at the peak of my ability which kept me awake.
I have often wondered how many of our fatal accidents happen, NOT because someone was going too fast, but because (s)he simply fell asleep!

Not sure where u are at, but in The States, you can file a discovery application, and they have to give you all the paperwork on when the cop was last trained on radar, when the radar was last calibrated and other sruff that are not usually easy to find. When they can't find the paperwork, they will drop the ticket because they can't prove the reading was accurate.

This situation will certainly means something, but to handled it you can either plead guilty. the mean reason is that if you have taken defensive driving, they might have told you the rules about speeding, The prosecutor can say that you was endangering the lives of drivers on the road. Remember it is the responsibility of the driver to be careful when they are driving. Not because everybody is stealing so you should steal. No.

tell them in court that there was a car speeding coming up behind you then passed you, and you were keeping with the speed limit. Tell them you are not trying to dispute their technology but that you are sure you weren't going as fast as it said. Tell them you were going approx. 105km or so, so they know you were being careful. If you fight it in court w/ a good record even if you lose, they will reduce it to about half or $75. Good luck!

Just plead not guilty. You will have to wait til all the other cases are called but they usually don't go forward with a trial when it is just your word over the cops. And you'll get it dropped.

Just pay the darn thing and get it over with, there is no need for you to drag it along in court. You will have to miss work and probley alot of waste of time, just pay it, it can't be that much.

I would go and plead guilty and ask for a reduction. You will have to pay something but not as much as the ticket is. I would not fight it because you will not win at all.

if you want to be speed racer, you can pay tickets too, until then drive slower, they issue tickets to get morons to drive slower just becuase u think you can do it safely doesnt mean you are, they wouldnt have to issue speeding tickets if there were competent drivers out there
