You don't have to be on fertility drugs to be pregnant with more then one child. You don't need to know anything different, just do the same as you would being pregnant with one. Its the same things.

I wasn't on fertility drugs, I don't have twins in my family or anything like that, either... I actually had identical twins where none of that matters. Only fraternal twins can run in families, be caused by taking fertility drugs, etc... identical twins are a completely random event that can happen to absolutely anybody. Of course, sometimes fraternal twins are just a spontaneous event, too.
As for advice, there's lots of stuff out there to read and it's a great idea to know as much as you can, ask you doctors questions, and above all trust your instincts. Good Luck! :-)

1. Twins and other multiple gravid pregnancy (i.e. pregnancy with more than one fetus) commonly are born before the normal due date. There are several factors that affect when the water breaks and contractions begin. One such factor is weight, the weight of the fetus, placenta, amionitic fluid and sac - a mother's uterus can only expand so much. In a twin pregnancy, that weight is the sum of two fetuses.
2. Twins can be either maternal (i.e. identical) or faternal twins. In maternal, a fertilized ovum divides in to 2 identical ova. In fraternal twins, the mother ovulates 2 ova from each ovary and the faternal's sperm fertilize each of them. The resulting 2 ova are not identical. They came be the same sex or not.
3. Twins usually have lower birth weights compare to pregancies with only one fetus. For example, in a single pregancy, the newborn birth weight might be 7 lbs. In twin pregnancies, the babies might be 5 1/2 lbs.
4. Commonly, one twin is heavier than the other because of what is called "twin - twin transfer" (i.e. one twin gets more nutrients than the other).
5. A greater chance of C-section instead of a normal vaginal delivery.

My twins are 8 years old. I had 2 pregnancies afterwards, both single births. With my twins I was a little more sick than with the others and got rather large (duh, like you didnt expect that). Near the end you may have more problems than other women but with a decent Dr you'll be prepared. As for the babies themselves, diapers, diapers, diapers! Start doing a baby shower registration now and add things as they come to mind. Look online for a "mothers of multiples" club. They have the BEST yardsales! Congrats & good luck!

My sister and a few others I know that have had twins needed bed rest near the end months. Try recruiting now. Take it easy and enjoy being pampered because afterwards when the babies come they seem to get all the pampering. Congratulations! Twins are fun.

Make sure you buy 2 of everything. and a lot of diapers and wipes and bottles and stuff like that. It may be hard at times to for awhile alone so try to have you and someone else around until the babies get into a routine. Good Luck!!
