I have a 99 ford windstar with 45000 miles. I've been told the CVC? joint is probably bad as it knocks once in a while when I turn or sometimes even when I'm going straight, like over rough rr tracks. But now it's also making another sound. It's really noticable between 55 and 60 mph. It sounds like something is rubbing on the front passenger tire. My dad drove it and thought it was road noise, but he rotated the tires and that didn't help and now it seems to be getting worse. Would this have anything to do with the CVC joint? Any ideas on what it could be? Or any guess as to how much to fix it?? THanks!

sounds like a suspension bush has failed. Not expensive, the guy across the road fitted his own, but I would have gone to a garage.

You have front wheel bearings going out and need to have them replaced, that will take care of the rubbing noise. The noise on turns and over railroad tracks is more than likely your sway bar links going bad.
