You don't want maternity leave??? You can't have baby on your coffee break and then pop back afterwards. Believe me, after the birth, you are going to want to rest in hospital for a couple days and then in home after. Plus, who's going to look after a newborn baby when it needs its mommy?
I know you're eager to get to work, but wait until at least a month after the birth. Then at least you would have established some sort of routine with the baby, and he/she can be left in someone else's care if you decide to work.

You might get a temp job but no employer in their right mind is going to employ someone who is 6 months pregnant, knowing he will have to pay their maternity leave. Even if it were unpaid maternity leave, it would be inconvenient to the company to have a member of staff bugger off for 3 months just after they have spent all that effort training you.
sure, it might be illegal to discriminate against someone because they're pregnant, but try and prove it in a court of law. They'll just say sorry there was another candidate better suited for the job.
That's what I'd do if I were an employer I'm afraid.

You might have to look into a temporary service agency or Labor Ready type job where you can literally work one day and not the next if you don't feel like it. Whether you like it or not, you will have to be off at least two days with a new baby because you will be in the hospital. Some employers just don't want to take the time to start training and then have to re-train you when you get back because you won't remember what they've already taught you. If you don't get something soon, just wait until after the baby and then start job hunting.

You can still get a job as employers should be judging your skills and ability not your stage of pregnancy, I dont think you'd be eligible to maternity pay from your employer at this late stage anyway though.
If It's just boredom though why not start a college course - I'm 28 weeks pregnant and have just enrolled at college they are giving me 6 weeks off for the birth so I can home study.
Good luck anyway.

Hun, you cant get rejected from applying for jobs or even getting a job but you also need maternity leave. Ive been through the baby thng and it knocks you for six. You need the time off to bond with your baby and relax after pushing and going through labour for so long.
I hope you do find a job as it will help you in the long run. Government support is also available

Honestly, no. 99% of employers from good jobs to burger King wont hire you because they dont want to take on the risks involved. The are scared you might slip on a wet spot in the floor, lose the baby, and sue them. And ofcourse i dont know you, or what type of person you are. But i did feel the same way. I had a very high-risk pregnancy, and still wanted to work, but after i had her, I was thankin God no one hired me, because the months i stayed home with her after giving birth were the best of my life. I've never known anyone who didnt want maternity leave, just those who didnt get it. So its not a matter of maternity leave, its a matter of liability. ANd like i said, most employers WILL NOT take that on. You could try babysitting, personal house keeper, somethign like that. I know the jobs suck, but ifyou really need to work, that is all you will be offered, regardless of your work history, Good luck!

Next to no companies PAY you for maternity leave. You have to take the time off when having the baby. Although it is against the law to discriminate pregnant women while hiring, but no sane place would hire a 31w preggers women.
Your best bet is to go through a temp agency, so you can get some temp work here & there.

In the next 8wks you'll be glad of your time off. If you don't want maternity leave what you gonna do when baby born-or if intended and as most employers would presume you don't intend to return.
Why not take up a hobby like making cards you could make money if any good selling to family and friends-or even if they're rubbish they may take pity on you and buy anyway!!!!

As horrible as it is most employers wont take you on so late in your pregnancy as they will loose out they will fob you of with some excuse that the position not being suitable for you i know it really gets boring in the later stages of pregnancy so you should take up some kind of hobby to pass your time i did flower displays and bridal bouquet's and sold them on all you need is to find a good supply of flowers and cheap pots and away you go but the list is endless of what you can do, turn a hobby into an income and you can carry on after the birth of your child good luck if you decied to apply for jobs

You wouldn't qualify for maternity leave anyway. are you on benefits-if so it's not worth giving them up. If you are really bored, do what I did and go to the YMCA and see if you can volunteer in the cafe-its good fun- or a charity shop. It's really interesting and you can just help out a couple of days a week.
