Depends on whether you mean people that want to prevent abortions or people that want to make abortions freely available. For the former, it would mean that people would really have to consider whether unprotected sex was a good idea or not. I would say not because a woman that is not married has no real way of guaranteeing that any man will do the right thing if she becomes pregnant. For the latter, it would mean that anyone could get an abortion for any reason, which would lead to women using it as a post-intercourse birth control. Having spoken with many women who have been dealing with guilt from having an abortion many years ago, I would say that this is a distinct possibility that is not openly discussed with women that are considering abortion as a choice.

Ultimately, who is fighting for the potential of life that she carries? You can say its not really alive, but it most definitely will be a child if you wait long enough. If I were a doctor, the only way I would perform an abortion is if there is no other alternative to keeping the mother alive. Even then, I believe that it would haunt me forvever.

Which extremists do you mean? People strongly in favor of abortion, or people strongly opposed to it?? (Actually, I don't think people favor "abortion" but rather "a woman's right to choose".)

If you mean the former -- people who favor "a woman's right to choose" -- I don't think the world, or the US at least, would look very different than it does now.

If you mean the latter -- people opposed to abortion -- I think the world, or the US at least, would look worse. There would be more unwanted and thus abused, neglected, and hungry children; there would be more broken families (I'm thinking mainly of teen girls whose parents would kick them out if they got pregnant, but there are other scenarios); and taxes would likely go up in order to support increasing demands on social service programs like welfare and WIC.

Ideally, people who don't want -- or simply aren't ready -- to raise children should abstain from sex or should use protection; however, this is NOT going to happen, and even with protection, accidents happen, and thus I think women should be able to keep their right to choose.

there would be no need for abortion rights extremists, if there weren't anti choice fire bombing extremists. So I guess the extreme would disappear...that would be really nice

They're controlling everything now, unfortunately, since they got the Roe vs. Wade decision passed, violating of the rights of the innocent to enter into the world.

And you can see how ugly the world has become.

considering that extremist feminist organisations join hands with extremist abortion-rights activists, MEN will cease to exist, and in less than 50 years the male species will become extinct!!!

I can think of two major changes:
a lot less children, unwanted by their mothers, will be born and live unhappy and neglected.
With available and cheap abortion facilities maybe the population explosion in the developing countries will subside, resulting in better life for the stable populations.

Who is to say what is right as long as we have the right to choose. Imagine a world where you could make any choice you wanted regardless of the outcome or consequence. Eh?

If a woman wanted one, she could get one, if she didn't then she wouldn't get one. Just like you had a choice in getting a lobotomy and you choose to have it, no one forced you.

Um, we would all die out because they believe everyone should get an abortion(only the extremists). They get mad if someone is talked out of an abortion, WTF??!! So, the next generation as we know it would cease to exist.

People would have free choices. The world wouldn't be so Orwellian.
