I swear I have been thinking about that for a long time! Most cars can go 100mph and better but you buy the car and can't even take it to the highest capacity. But safety issues do play a part because everyone who buys fast cars doesn't necessarily mean they can handle it. As well as cities generating revenue for tickets and court costs!

For the same reason that cigarettes are sold that can addict you and give you cancer and alcohol is sold so you can lose your judgement and break "the law". It's a measure of self control and a test...fail the test=pay the piper. A cruel joke? Maybe...

They do that so they can get even more money from us taxpayers. My suggestion for you is to move to England if you don't want a ticket. Think about it, this country thrives on money and that is the easiest way for the govt. to get it without "taking" it.
