i grow hair on my neck, the left side, more than the right. its not a beard! just a small patch of thicker, darker hair. same goes for my "sideburns", and also, my shest. i know ur thinking this is odd, but its true. i feel so discusting all the time, even though I wax every two weeks. whenever i go to the salon i start crying becuase I think this is so weird. i went to my doc and he said its hormone imbalance.

Does anyone have and thing similar to this?? i have to say I am a beautiful person, in and out, and i have had my boyfriend for almost 5 years. im 20. he "says" it doesnt bother him, and he really doesnt seem to care much, but I do.

I have looked into electrolysis and all that but its soooo expensive!!! Anyways, i need some input on this, I feel like i am the only one.

I don't really know what to say... I wanted to encourage you but I haven't gone thru the same thing as you. I do however know that EVERYONE has something about themselves that they wish they could change. If it is a hormone imbalance then I hope you can find a solution to it. If it's not, just remember that God doesn't give you more than you can handle. Look at what having this in your life has taught you... it's obviously taught you that people are worth knowing, that all people are beautiful, no matter what's on the outside. It's taught you how to accept flaws. It's allowed you to share something with a person you care about, your boyfriend. Sometimes finding the good in a bad situation can help you deal with it.

I hope this helped some.

Keep waxing and shaving and ask your doc if he can give you something to level out the hormones.
Are you on birth control pills? Could they be causing in imbalance? If it's possible, then ask about a lower dose hormone pill.
If it doesn't bother your boyfriend, it shouldn't bother you, but I don't believe it. It honestly may not bother him, but it could drive you boonkers.
About the only thing to do is talk to your doc about something that will level out the hormones. If he/she is no help, try an obgyn and see if they can help.
Sorry that I can't be of more help.

i'm not a woman but i really thought you might need a male input on this as well (hope you don't mind).

you are confident that you are a beautiful person in and out, so you shouldn't let this bother you! especially when your boyfriend already told you it doesnt bother him. everyone has their quirks and little things that makes them unique, and this is yours.

the doc says there is hormonal imbalance.. did he give u any solutions?

i think you're putting in so much effort into the waxing... and that seems to be ok for your bf. why not for yourself?

Hormonal imbalance, yes, will cause the excess hairiness, you probably also have dreaded headaches and fluctuating moods right around that time of the month.
Get a female OB/Gyn and she might be able to give you the help w/balancing your bodies' chemical levels.
Again, we have a male doctor with not much empathy for a female and her hormones.

You might possibly have a condition called Stein-Leventhal Syndrome, otherwise known as PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). Hirsutism (hair in unlikely places) is one of the most dramatic symptoms of this condition. You might want to see an endocrinologist or your gynecologist for this to see if you have cysts or if your hormones are all in balance. There are some meds they can try you on (spironolactone and others) if this is the case. Good luck!

Each person has something that really bothers and upsets them. In your case is understandable that you are worried about it ; Knowing that there is a treatment for it has to give you a sort of relief although you are not able to go for it just yet. Keep your chin up as there is more to you than just your hair and listen to your boyfriend's reassurance when you feel down. One day you will not have that hair .
Your GP can also help you
good luck!
