crochet!!! i was sick when I was 8,and I was out of school. It was winter, and my aunt was staying with me,and I wanted to make a beret. I still love them, and make a few to go with whatever i wear. anyway,I wanted to learn, and I taught myself, but my aunt fine-tuned my leanrning experience. i had a set of books called " make it yourself" and i still would LOVE to find the whole set ( there were 22, i believe) and i have made several items, over the course of 31 years. Blankets, baby items, clothes, doilies, more clothes, bikini's for my daughter and her friends, whatever I want to make. I have about 50 projects in my closet that are bagged with the yarn it takes to make them, and i am never without a project going! now, my thing is putting edgings on all my clothes, and I have alot of clothes!! It requires a steel hook, and thread, and it makes me calm, happy and I get a thrill knowing i am creating something, not just wasting time. I use the net for 75% of my patterns and have alot of sites bookmarked. ( much to hubby's chagrin!)

Beading.
I love to create jewelry, art and embellishments. The complexity and time needed are always up to me, I can choose a quick and easy project or a special design that takes hours to weave.
The concentration on the project requires concentration and the rest of the world fades away a little while you work.

I like to knit. Sounds boring, but I really enjoy knitting at night after I put my son to bed and finish getting all the stuff done around the house, just sitting and knitting is very relaxing. I think it helps me fall asleep faster.

Fishing. Why? It is my therapy and I have been doing it since My mom and dad took me with them trout fishing in New Hampshire when I was 3 yrs old. It actually lowers my blood pressure when I go fishing, which is once or twice a week. Sometimes more.

going camping

i get away from the house! It's fun, we fish, boat, swim, sit and chat, play cards, play board games, meet new people. Better than going to the mall for something to do.

Arts and Crafts in general. Painting, scrapbooking, card making, anything really.

Also dancing.

They are ways of expression that can be unique to you.
