You really learn how much people really don't know what they are talking about on here. You can go in a hot tub when you are pregnant for the full 20 minutes anyone can but you should have your ribs and up out of the water and drinking a lot of fluids.

As long at it isn't to hot. Babies are many times born in large bathtubs. Laboring in a whirlpool is very relaxing (if relaxing is possible during labor)....

Using a hot tub is very harmful in the first trimester in pregnancy. It will actually cause neural tube defects. There is no truth to this woman's belief that you can go in if you keep your ribs out of the water! That is absurd! Later in pregnancy, it is not a good idea as it raises your body temperature, possibly causing distress to the fetus. It has the same affect as a high fever. This is why doctors become so concerned about high fever in pregnancy. Go to school for eleven years post high school, honey, and then question your doctor! You just sound foolish.

No. Hot tubs are not good for pregnant women even in short intervals. It can be harmful to your unborn baby.

Enjoy a warm bath instead and save the hot tub for after the baby is born!

Good luck!

you must really watch the temp of the water. It can be bad if it is too hot. I would often sit in the whirlpool tub that we have, but kept the water at a much cooler temp then I had before or after being pregnant. The heat is not good for the baby.

Don't do it. A regular tub is fine because the temperature slowly goes down, a hot tub stays hot.

It is not safe. Pregnant women should not go into hot tubs at all.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that you were never supposed to get in a hot tub when you're pregnant.

it's not advisable.....although i jumped in and out a few times while i was pg. it also depends on what the setting is at--one i went in was set at--i kid you not, not any hotter than normal bath temp. pretty much you don't want your body temp to go above 101, ever--including if your get a cold and have a fever. so it's up to you really, just be very careful...don't boil the baby!!!

It probably is, but I wouldn't try it, or at the very least I'd consult a doctor first, just in case. It's possible the temperature change would harm the baby.
