any tone you use
will bring me to my knees
every message you send
is clearly my sedative

softly whisper words
of love and devotion
your voice so lightly speaks
words familiar yet to me

lightly dance around
the feelings that are mine
never knowing which way
your message will lead my thoughts

speak to me quickly
so i can't understand
but i hear every word
and those words fill me with life

scream, shout as you will
you know i'll enjoy it
and get lost in every
sound of rage that is your voice

your voice in anger
excitement, joy or love
will bring me to a state
of absolute submission

I think its music. The idea that music is enchanting the persona. The persona seems to be loss in the wonders of the musical element. Furthermore, the soft consenance in words such as 'lost', 'whisper' and 'softly' seems to substantiate it. This is the innocent way of looking at it.

From another point of view, it could be talking about sex. Both the lustful and romantic side. The first 4 stanzas talk about the romantic side of sex . An evidence of this would in the line "...will bring me to my knees..." and also in the line that says "...softly whisper words// of love and devotion..."

The last 2 stanzas are the climaxes which means that lust has taken over. Words such as 'rage', 'scream' and 'excitement' means that romance has been replace by the uncontrollable feelings of lust.

Thruout the poem, the persona has made some form of progression regarding sex. From a romantic and beautiful picture of sex to a more aggressive and lustful side of sex. In other words, the persona may have lost its innocence and be somewhat overwhelmed by it.

Sounds a bit off though.. Maybe i'm analysing it wrongly.. But nontheless, a good poem.

I think its about a person (lets say a girl) whos completely in love and infatuated with a guy who seems to woo her with his words sometimes, which is what i get from "softly whisper words, of love and devotion"...but the rest of the time he´s screaming and shoutin at her, but she doesnt care, she says she enjoys it, cuz she finds everythin he does facinating, and probably thinks he´s right too, whatever the topic might be. She´s submissive around him. "your message will lead my thoughts"...everything he says to her and everything he does seems to effect her way of thinking...her philosophy of life just goes out the window ever since he entered the picture. She´s made him into her everythin and he knows this, so he uses her in the way of wooing her, with his sweet words whenever he´s in the mood, cuz he knows he´s only makin her fall for him even more. But this is just my intrepration of this poem though, i could be completely off though, of course.

Hey, i have to say, i really like your poem, i think its really good. Did you write it yourself? Well, if so, keep up the good work. :)) And either way, thank you for sharing your poem. Have a great day! :)

Starts off like a very loving and interesting poem deep with thought. Then you take an exit ramp off of love lane onto a crowded highway with dangerous overtones. Sounds like the subject is so blind with love that she is willing to endure an abusive relationship. Get back on love lane and find a driver that loves you for you and treats you like a passionate woman that really deserves respect. Just my take of the words!

Sounds like someone's willing to give up their free will to someone else, and it ain't from love. They sound like a masochist.
