Sweetheart... That is the unfortunate American way. All these jobs that no one want's to do, that no one wants but bosses also understand SOMEONE has to do them!

Those who don't want them, do whatever they can to make sure they hold hard working people (such as yourself) down, and keep you complacent (even knock you down on purpose ) to ensure that those who actually DO very little (because they have all of the education) therefore all of these great jobs, making the most money, while those like you with hard work values bear the brunt of everything for peanuts.

They know you are down and they will keep you there as long as you allow it. Smart bosses, will always use people like you knowing that you feel you have something to prove and will work you half to death with the understanding that they never will reward you for it with anything other than chump change... It is the familiar carrot before the jack-*** rule and they all use it...

All you really can do is go back to school and better yourself BUT... that's hard when you can barely make ends meet working all the hours you can pack into a week as it is. Where does school fit in?

It is an unfortunate place you have found yourself in and I hate to say it but it is the very reason why pretty young girls often resort to stripping to pay off student loans and support themselves while in school. That lifestyle however is not for the weak in that it is not only dangerous to you physically, you can aquire addictions, get involved with an element and it really is pretty much the same kind of situation you were in with your boss in that those over you will always hold you down to stay on top. It is quite catty and very competitive. Not to mention that you actually have to PAY to work in most clubs.

What I suggest, is that while you are still working, you apply for a Pel grant and get a loan that will provide you with enough money to support yourself (or at least supplement your income) and go back to school and get a complete degree, a masters if you only have a BA or a BA is you only have an asoc or an asoc if you have only High school. Take yourself up a notch.

I hate to say this...but you have got to put yourself into some sort of supervisory position and actually be above someone else.

Don't think nice, don't think "I would never do that to someone else." because in this life, in these kinds of situations. YOU HAVE TO! Because, as soon as you let your guard down, that very person you show kindness toward and give a break to as a boss, will swoop over you and take your job right out from under you as soon as they get the oppurtunity, they will do it with a smile as they pat you on the back and say "It's nothting personal."
and they will be right, it isin't. It is just the way it goes.

You have got to wake up every morning like the antelope in africa do. With the understanding that you either run... faster, stronger and more efficiently than everyone else. Or you are food for someone else!

Be a lion or an antelope. your choice. Life is not kind! Don't expect it to be.

Don't give up or in. Don't let the world beat you down and keep you there. If you have to, take a hot bath with a cold beer, cry your eyes out, then pick yourself up and find your track again.
Education is the key to get you out of the cell you're trapped in, but it isn't gonna be easy to get out of.
Figure out what you'd like to do for the rest of your life, computer programing, engineering, office management, whatever. Just decide what you wanna be when you grow up.
You'll have to work and go to school at the same time. You live on your own? Rent? Get a room mate to share expenses.
Find and take night classes through a local collage, or trade school, it'll take longer to get any kind of degree if you can only go part time, but you WILL get there.
Mentally, lock on to your goals and don't get distracted.
If your parents or other relatives are close, ask to move in with them until you get this together and offer to pay rent to them, maybe they won't charge you as much as a landlord. Explain to them that you want to go back to school and invest into a career and you'd really appreciate their help. Your offer of paying them rent should tell them that you aren't there to mooch.
With a room mate or back at your parents/relatives house, the load should shift a little and give you a little more breathing room. Maybe even a little more time to study.
Good Luck!!

Don't give up on yourself, many people feel this way.

Though furthering your education is a definite option, so is adjusting the way you think. Put your attention on the positive things in your life and be happy for those who are succeeding. Pay attention to the way they think, how they feel about their ability and self-worth. They do not have self-confidence because they are successful- they are successful because they have self-confidence.

Also, search your heart for the things you are passionate about and begin to pursue them. In the beginning they may just be hobbies, but even this small step will accomplish two huge things: one, it will increase your positive energy (which is attract-ive energy) because you are doing something that makes you happy, and two, indulging this creative or productive side of yourself will give you a greater understanding of who you are, what you want, and what you are worth.

Success takes time and practice- no matter how easy others make it look. It is a PROCESS of self-discovery and assertion. Make peace with that and practice positive thinking, not self-sabotage. Believe in yourself and others will too.

Best Wishes

Get a part-time job to help pay your bills. In the meantime, apply for higher paying full-time jobs. Stop spending your money on items that aren't necessary.

Don't give up, just make another game plan. Sometimes you need to upgrade to a better paying job, even if it's not your cup of tea. Good Luck.

Can you improve your income by going back to school? Or being self employed? Or both? Or doing a side job?
