It isn't. It's when a government pretends to promote freedom and equality, without a sincere commitment to it, that conflicts arise. When last did Norway, the Netherlands, Switzerland or any other number of countries get into a violent conflict with another nation?

The fact is, freedom and equality are no longer American values. You have secret prisons. You torture. You tap your citizen's phones and you monitor what books people are reading. Just look at Katrina for the answer to your equality question.

Because people keep power by suppressing others and controlling their lives ... Anytime you take power away from a group and offer freedom, there will be resistance.
