OMG - I hope the 6 year old is ok? I could not probably find the words myself, especially if the 11 year old has really gone understandbly bizark over the whole thing. Just do the best you can, you may have to seek some counseling for him/her. That could be a very tramatic experience, even for an adult.

Use kind words. Plan to visit the other child and make sure they are ok. In the beginning there might not be much you can say to help. Just be available to listen and allow the child to express emotion. As time goes by you may start to discuss how this accident could have been prevented. If the child has a very difficult time coping you should speak with the school counsellor or social worker or your pediatrician to see if therapy might be appropriate.

Explain to her that this is an accident that no one has controll over and make sure that she is allert of her surroundings so she doesnt end up the same if that doesnt help def call a school counsler and have them talk to her maybe she will open up to them and it will help her through it. Thats a horrible thing for her to see i hope this helps!!!

how horrible i dont think theres anything we can say to make it better.something like that is going to stick in your childs head forever. i say some counceling of sorts. let them know you love them very much just lots of reassurance. maybe a conversation about death and how hopefully there is a better place for us.sometimes bad things happen to good people thats why we should be grateful everyday for even the small things in our lives. i wish you soo much luck. i wish i could make it go away for your child.let them know they are safe

Oh my, tough one....
You might try your local public school system. Most now have crisis teams who can help students deal with the loss of other students, they should be able to help you talk with your child....

Please take your child to a trained professional. If this isn't handled well it could impact your child for life.
