Not much difference to be honest. Except, America is HUGE!

In the USA, a small sized Big Mac from McDonalds is equivalent to large size in the UK! The same with Coca Cola, I ask for a small coke, and it's HUGE!

BTW, polymath, didn't you read her question, she's not refering to languages.

Because two countries share the same language does not ,in any way mean that everything else must be the same. The British have developed a culture over many centuries, a mixture of the original Celts, the Romans, who occupied the islands for about four hundred years, French, brought in by William the Norman, and German, brought in by many Germanic tribes.
American culture developed from a mixture of the above, influenced by the native Americans, strongly influenced by the Spanish in the South West, and by African slaves.
There is no way that the cultures could run parallel. Then, a great deal of British culture tied in with their Royalty, which never could be accepted in America.

Easy one this - America doesn't actually have a culture as it's not old enough (as a country) to have developed one.
