Raconteurs, Tool...?

Question

Despite a difference of genre, couldnt you compare Maynard Keenan and Jack White, just for their ability to create the industry, and not just depend on it?

Its honestly ingenious when you think about it. Both are freaking gods in their realm.

I guess that just goes to prove how eclectic some peoples musical tastes can be :)

There is no comparing Jack to Maynard.

Print out lyrics for both these guys/bands and look at the dept that Maynard digs. Its deep, dark and anyone can relate to a TOOL song. The TOOL music alone is raging and seeing them live gives me chill. Versus Jack, their ok live and leaves me wondering why I paid to see him.

here's the thing about jack white. he's only one quarter of the band. input is coming from 4 different people in that band. you need to check out some albums by brendan benson and the greenhornes. the greenhornes rhythm section, patrick and little jack are amazing. they also played with jack w. on the loretta lynn album "van lear rose." but brendan benson is the biggest reason why the raconteurs are so great. he is a truely underapprecitated and underrated singer songwriter from detroit. he has 3 lps out since the mid 90's "one mississippi" "lapalco" and "alternative to love" buy em all.
bassist little jack is also in another band called Blanche... where he plays the banjo. funny enough, on the 2nd song on their debut album brendan sings backup vocals and jack white plays the lead guitar solo. check them out too. Blanche..... "If We Can't Trust the Doctors"
