I am not the only person that this has happened to on the job. I am a very responcible employee with over 30 years food service, I have never had this issue at an employment before. This has happened twice to me here. And from my knowledge I have contacted the labor board and it is an illegal practice, I am looking for other alternatives for employment. This is my thinking, how many people are out there thinking they are always wrong because someone else says they are not doing there best and need to do better. We do have choices, because someone owns a resturaunt or is a manager doesn't always mean that he has your best interest at heart. Pissed absolutely.....It's the Princible of the thing to me.

I am glad you feel this way. I am not sure what the issues you have at work but it seems like the situation is not acceptable to you. At this stage, then your option is to go out on your own terms with your head held high. Let me give you an example.

Several years ago, I was the Regional Chief Financial Officer of a large public company (That was just before Eron and all that stuff become public). I disagreed with the suits about the way we counted our revenue. The message came back was "play the company tone and the money will keep coming". At that time, I had 3 choices...shut up, take the money and prepare to go to jail, get out on my own or get thrown out. I got out. A couple years later, the company lost a class action suit. The stocks went from $45 to $5. If I didn't leave, I would have been the one to be fingered and squeezed. So do what your heart tells you what is right and move on with your life. America is full of other options if you only care to look.

So what exactly happened?

You are responsible for your own actions, or overall responsible for the outcome of your emplyees' actions, if you are in charge, which it sounds like you're not.

You can only do your best, if other people have problems with that then maybe they're the problem, not you--but then again I don't know your situation.

Anyway, good luck.

I agree, just because they are the boss don't make them God and alot of bosses or owner think they are and the employees are not up to their standards. If I am doing my best that is all anyone can do. Usually they can't do any better but they are still jerks about it.

Is this still about the people who didn't pay their bill?

did you file a police report?

If it keeps happening I'd look for another job.

I know some waitresses at a national chain and they are resposible if someone doesn't pay. But they say it never happens.
