Hampton court (great maze, could be fun for the over 55s) or Blenheim Palace - where Churchill was born and raised, beautiful house and gardens, good for strolling. Couldn't tell you about the Xmas theme tho

What about Cliveden. Wonderful house, wonderful grounds. Owned by the National Trust. Located near Wooburn in Buckinghamshire.

I wonder if many of you have ever actually taken time to tour London itself?? I know this might sound odd but, as most of you have perhaps always worked etc, you may not have had the time to see all that London has to offer.
OR,I was going to suggest perhaps a show followed by drinks and a meal.....whatever you decide, have a great day.

Henley on Thames is very nice. Less likely to be snowed under with tourists than Oxford. Nice shops, restaurants, pubs and tea rooms. If the weather is dry then good walking along the river (flat and easy for older members of your party).
