Green Days music used to be good, but not so much anymore. But anything they write or create is a million times better than U2!!!!!

I think this question will have to wait until Green Day has been around for at least another 10 years. U2 is musically brilliant, crosses more genres than Green Day, and has just been around way longer and shown their staying power.

Green day although i do know that green day and U2 will be doing a cover together of "the saints are coming" but Green day rock!

I am a child of the 80's, so I will definitely go for U2. Their older music is better, but they still rock.
Green Day is very cool though. One of my son's favorite bands!

Both seem to be getting a bit plastic, moreso U2, but U2 has the longevity so they would get my vote if I had to choose between them.

as an 80's girl i have to go with u2 because they have had staying power--ask this question again in 20 years!
