They did about 20 years ago but i have handled loads lately and they just dont roll up

It a different species..I know the ones you mean ..and the one that rolled tight in to a ball are not woodlice

Fashion, it was fashionable in the 80's to go for a tight ball, but fashions move on, the 21st century wood louse is subject to the vagaries of fashion like the rest of us.

Pill Bugs(rolly polly) bugs do that not wood lice
