ususally if someone confesses a lie to you then they will be more apt to tell you the truth later on (unless this person is a con-artist).

Once a fibber always a fibber, no matter how small the fib--same goes with a white lie and a HUGE lie. Admitting it just makes us human, believing they will become honest makes us hope in humanity.

If he confesses that he lied that is a step in the right direction. But it make take a while to earn his trust back.

Depends on the situation and the trust you have in this person. What was the severity of the lie?

If he were man enough to admit that he lied he definatly deserves another chance but i would still have him on thin ice for awhile to see how truthful he actuall would be

not one person on this planet can readilly admit that he hasnt lied in one way or another. we are humans after all.
i'll give him a chance to prove to himself that he wont do it again. if i can sense that lying is becoming a habit of his, and he's doing harm to other pople, i'll be avoiding that person already.
