With terror and crime and bird flu and whatever you have locally, what country do you think would be the safest to live in and why?

The safest place in the world is Ascension Island, 4 degrees ish South of the Equator mid Atlantic. No crime, fantastic people wonderful fishing. The only downside is there are some Yanks, but they seem to be the nice kind and they are everywhere anyway.

There are ,any nations on this planet that live in peace. But if thier is no conflict in the region, there is no reason for the media to broadcast it. Even many islamic nations. Like Jordan and northern african nations. There are kingdoms in africa stilled ruled by kings that are the most peacefull places on earth. But the government don't want other's knowing how society could really be like. I mean places so clean, you can eat food off the palace floors with no prob. And the citizens have no sense of anger, fear, jealousy, envy, hate and are in perfect harmony with each others. But the safest place for me is in my own mind. I am a nation. I die where I am.

Papua New Guinea - or as far away from civilisation you can get.
There are still parts of PNG that have never seen cars or any sort of technology - let alone bombs.
If you don't keep chickens you'll be safe from bird flu too!!
(Or you can just get on with life and stop worrying)

The sad fact is that the safest place to be is as far away from other humans as you can get. Having said that, you wouldn't last long on the moon! :)

well if a ghost or zombie comes into your house under the blankets is the safest place. a terrorist attack as far away as possible from the perps home town. a nuclear explosion where ever the world leaders are hiding.

I'd go for New Zealand...not many people know where it is, the weather may be a little cold for most terrorists, the beer to bad for most Americans and its far enough away from Australia to not have to worry.

Yorkshire, in the UK. The greatest place on earth. However, you may need a gas mask and bunker to survive what the world throws at us today. But for me, Yorkshire is the place to be.
