Eat frequently, eat complex carbohydrates and foods that have carbs, protein and fat, as the boy takes longer to break this down and lets the carbs in slower and more steady. Carbs turn into sugar, which is what keeps you blood sugar happy. Without them, you become shaky, irritable, tired, all your symptoms of hypoglycemia.
You have to control your diet sort of similar to a diabetic, except you have to focus on keeping your blood sugar UP. that's the frequent eating part and the complex carbs part.
