I so respect the thinking behind the drafting of the American constitution and the sacrifices the 'plain' folk of the USA have made in the world as service men and women. I just have a problem with what has gone on since 9/11 and am not sure bombing all around the world reflects well on the people. - In the ww1 the guys came out of the trenches and met and realised they were just the same hard working stiffs whose politicians had sent them to be slaughtered but for what purpose? I don't see killing anyone in Iraq or Palestine makes the world any better - unless you are rich because you make munitions

Basically the U.S.A. took on the task of becoming the World's dominant power.
Unfortunately power has responsibilities and one of these it to mediate in others misfortunes.
Currently the U.S.A. is not acting like this.
You need a man of the world with the knowledge of its peoples in this position, and many think your choice is not up to it.
There is however some excuse.
Your country over emphasises wining. To win is to be victorious in your eyes but most occasions show the winner ends up becoming the loser.
Born out of revolution, you are still fighting your corner after the last bell.
The fight is over.
You have won and you now have the responsibility that goes with the winner's crown.
You have many great men in your country and you can do better.

PS. I for one in the UK am not fearful of the U.S.A. but I am sorry to see them acting like I should be?

At the end of the day it all comes down to money. The US bombs the hell out of cities around the world and then sends in the contracts negotiators to 'help' with the rebuilding. The contracts agreed are highly restrictive and usually preclude contractors from other countries getting any contracts, thus lining Americas pockets.

Same old liberal rhetoric. Who cares what people think of Americans? If more foreigners feared and respected us, they would not mess with us as often as they do.

Regerugged.

What you say is a contradiction in terms, if someone fears you they cannot also respect you. I take it you're American, says it all doesn't it.

it is just this president trying to tell others 'my pee pee is bigger than yours'. I never agreed with the whole 'war' issue. He wants oil, then tells the country we need to find alternate fuels. Lying SOB.
