Do they teach you children anything in school anymore?

Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese on December 7, 1941. This event marks America's entrance into World War II.

D-day (the one most people think of) occurred on the beaches of Normandy, France on June 6, 1944. D-day is a common military term that refers to the date of an impending operation. There have probably been many D-days throughout history, but the term is most memorable for the assault on Normandy. It is for this reason that the term is seldom used anymore.

To the best of my knowledge, nothing of historical note occurred on December 7, 1948.

My god, talk about wild stabs!
Pearl Harbour was 7 December, 1941.
D-Day was 6 June, 1944.
Israel was proclaimed on May 14, 1948.

To the best of my knowledge the most significant thing that happened on the 7th of Decmber, 1948 was the first instant photo was taken by the president of Polaroid corperation, a Mr. Pete Cameron, of President Trueman.
It took just under 60 seconds to develop.
Oh, apparently 1200 acres of Wisconsin was handed back to the Indians as well.
