I got my GED in 2001, I was supposed to graduate high school in 2002. So really I was done with high school before the rest of my class. Now, I have a job, an apartment and a car. I'm 23 with no children. I have good credit (unlike some college grads I know) and I plain on owning my own home within the next two years. All I have to take care of is me, myself and I. Some times I think that maybe I should have fought harder and finished high school. But I really don't think my life would be any different. I plain on going back to school some day because I know furthering you education is important but really I've never "liked" school.

I have my GED. I've been married 11 1/2 years, have 2 kids, a house and so on. I also am starting college next month. I got married at 18. You can still have a great, perfectly normal life if you get your GED. School isn't for everyone, some people need to grow up faster.

I received my GED at 16 and then went directly to college. I now am an EMT, CNA, first responder, and a firefighter, along with a vet tech diploma. I was in line to graduate early(3 years) with a full scholarship to the 2 top schools for Veterinary medicine but changed schools and was denied that opportunity, so I went out and did it on my own. Emotionally I am better than if I had stayed in school where getting a 4.0 was getting to be to easy. Thanks for asking.

I have a diploma, but don't think that we who have them don't
have emotional problems. It should only make those who worked
so hard to get a GED proud as can be that they had the guts to
go out & get it. A long time friend of mine got her GED at age 29.
She was working two jobs, and had little time to work on her GED, but we are all so proud of her. She doesn't work two jobs
any longer!!

Your question seems to imply that there is some correlation between having a GED (instead of a diploma) and emotional well-being.

GED. I dropped out of HS early because it was boring and got my equivalency. Now studying for my BS in geology and will go on for my Master's. People with GEDs aren't always pathetic losers, you know. Sometimes they're just impatient with all the HS bull and want to go on to bigger and better things.

So, I should say, emotionally, I'm great.
