Thank you David for you’re sharing you’re hatred for cows and all things dairy. I personally think they were sent her by aliens to destroy us. But the real question is about adv and disadv of protein before bed. Even though they are evil and will eventually lead to my demise, I love milk and hamburgers. Make peace and hug a cow.

The best time to have protein is after your workout. The body will only increase muscle mass if it is very strenuously worked out (only after anaerobic respiration). If you're not exercising, you'll only get fatter since the protein will be used as a food instead of as a mass builder

Over the years, I have found that eating or drinking ANYTHING from a cow (and whey is from a cow), is just not good for you.

I get my daily protein intake by eating a small can of white chicken breast in water. I drain the water, has oil.

If you want to lift with the 'Big Boys', you need to ingest at least .8-2 grams of protein per pound of lean muscle mass. *Note: You do not want to feed excessive fatty tissues (only lean muscle). Try to consume at least 20 grams of protein every 2 1/2-3 hours. Believe me! I use to weigh more than 380 pounds, now I weigh 215 w/ a body fat percentage of 10%. In addition, I would suggest that you consume a source of casein protein before bed (it digests slowly, which will feed your muscles all night)!

I think the whey is kind of overkill. Protein is what you need and a little too much really can't hurt you. the excess will be excreted in the urine

Protein is not stored in your body. It depends on your activity level. The more activity, the more protein you need, but before bed, I don't think so.
