You're still pretty young and are still going through the normal trials and tribulations of puberty. Irregular menstrual cycles are a part of your bodies hormone levels leveling out as you progress through puberty. You mentioned that your height and weight are fine, but something to think about is that the female body requires a certain body fat content to even have a period at all. A lot of female athletes will go years without a menstrual cycle because their body fat content is too low to bring the onset of a period. I believe the magic number is 11% body fat. Once you get below 11% your body will start to shut down the need for a menstrual cycle. The reason this occurs is that the body needs at least this much body fat to sustain a baby (hence the reason you gain weight during pregnancy). If you drop below 11% body fat you cannot sustain a baby very well, so there is no need for a menstrual cycle. So if you are skinny this might be another reason for the irregularities.

I would recommend you go see a doctor just to be sure, but I'm sure everything is fine.

Well, there are a lot of questions to be asked here in order to answer your question.....
Are you taking any medication? Drugs of any kind whether they are prescribed, legal or illegal may cause irregular periods.
Do you have a healthy diet? Are you compromising your nutrition by skipping meals and taking diet pills?
Do you have a history of this in the women that are in your family?
Have you expressed your concerns to your gynecologist?
If not, you should do so immediately.
Have you had a pelvic exam and maybe an ultrasound of your pelvis and uterus?
Make an appointment at your doctors or at a clinic

If you aren't eating enough or are a serious athlete without taking in the proper nutrients that can cause you to have irregular periods. It may just be part of your natural growth cycle. But you could ask your pediatrician for advice or if they feel the need they may refer you to an OBGYN, who may be able to help regulate it. Hope that helps

Have you started a new sport or other athletic activity in the last year? Weight gain or loss has a lot to do with how your reproductive system cycles. Talk to you mom about that and see what she thinks then.

You need to see the doctor so he can give you hormones to regulate it. A lot of people have this problem and this is how they care for it. Do not be afraid just go and he will give you an exam to rule out anything worse that can be going on.

Stress is a major factor in offsetting periods.
It more than likely is nothing since it always appear to be irrregular.
If it worries you more go to a DOC just to be one the safe side.
I see it often in my field.

Sounds like you have what is called dysmennorhea. Your OB/GYN may be able to evaluate it and put you on a birth control to regulate your periods.

sleeping late does not affect your periods.

irregular periods are not normal and after 5 years you should be pretty regular. Go and see your Gynae they will get you regular.

it could be your size, if you are thin and athletic you can miss periods. If it continues, I would suggest seeing you OB/GYN soon to rule out anything serious.
