depending on what color it is and if it has any writing on it...you should be able to look up anything here in a pharmaceutical site. Or take it to a local pharmacy ...they are unconditional and can answer any questions you may have. Does it have a butterfly on it? Is it pink?....I know that Ecstacy, (which is very popular in the teenagers today) has these definitions....I wouldn't ignore it. It could be something that can hurt him, if he doesn't know the sensitivities of certain drugs. Another thing, you would know allergies. This could be very bad, if he took something that might contraindicate something else he might be taking or eating. In every situation like this...just make sure you don't yell or go off the deep end. Kidz experiment today with alot of things. I'd sit him down, be his friend about it. Talk to him and make sure he understands the "consequences" in todays society if he is taking an illegal drug...or the medical side of it. I'd make sure he understood that you were on his side. Just my thoughts....

Take it to the pharmacy near you and im sure they would be glad to tell you and if you are scared to death that he got into something you must be worried about his behavior or what he is up too im not there but i would look in his room and see if you can find anything else and confront him and dont give him back the pills tell him you flushed them and find out what they are and i hope you dont have a bigger problem on your hands because this is about the age it begins so i wish you luck but dont be afraid to ask him and im sure you will know buy his reaction and i have no doubt that he is good you know most people are good just because someone has a problem with drugs or alchol doesnt make them a bad person they just have a problem but lets just pray thats not the case so good luck again cc

Ok, this is going to sound weird, but... take it to your public library and ask the reference librarian. I KNOW it sounds weird, but I worked at a public library for a while and trained to be a reference librarian, and one of the first questions they trained us to be prepared to research was exactly your question. Unfortunately, it's not an unusual question at all - a lot of parents in your exact situation wind up needing to find the same information.
Anyway, ask the reference librarian if he or she can help you find the reference materials you need to identify the pill. There are books out there that'll help you ID it with a fairly high degree of accuracy. You could check your local bookstore for them (I think one is just called the Pill Book, actually) if you're shy about asking someone. I remember the books being a little much to wade through without some guidance, though.
Of course, you could also take it to your local pharmacist to see if he or she can identify it.
Breathe deep - your son's a good kid, with a good, involved parent. Find out whatever the pill is (with even a little luck, it's just an asprin or some other totally benign thing) and talk to him.
Best of luck!

Yeah, taking it to a pharmacy sounds like a good idea. If it is anything, I would get ready to have a talk with your son and then maybe his father.
With a 13 year old I would suspect it was a caffeine pill though.
Whatever it is, it's good that you found it.

Well, you could get a pill book and look or take it to a pharmacist and ask. I would call first, though. Find out if you could get into legal trouble if it's an illegal substance. I'm sorry that I don't know this beforehand. But make sure you or your son won't get into trouble.

I'd definitely take the pills to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist what they might be.

Go to a search page and type in PILL IDENTIFIER.
They will ask for things like the shape, color, and anything that is on it such as numbers and/or letters.
GOOD LUCK!!!
