Is the only difference between the iPod Nano and the iPod Shuffle, the screen? I am trying to decide which iPod to get.

and forget the "don't buy an iPod" answers. I have looked at a LOT of different MP3 players and I like the iPods the best.

As much information as possible in real people talk not the technical language.

Thanks!!

Isn't the size of the flash drive kind of your choice? isn't the 1GB or 512MB or 2GB? Isn't that the flash drive size?

Shuffle doesn't ONLY shuffle. It can play the songs in the order that you put them on your iPod. There is a switch on the back to control whether you want it to shuffle or not shuffle.

I would spend the extra for the nano. I've had both and while they both sound the same, the nano lets you scroll through the songs to the one you want rather than having to hit the next button until you get to the one you want. To me you're paying a little more for the convenience and there are some more options too such as games and a stop watch and more you can do with playlists.

I would say nano.. BUT, my 1 year old, lightly used Ipod nano just died. It doesn't work at all. Before that, I had a ipod mini for less than a year. The click wheel failed, and the disk had consistant problems. I just got a creative zen vision M and love it. It plays an array of video formats, fm radio, has a voice recorder, music, photos, etc. It's a step-up in price, but hopefully will last longer.

Get the shuffle. You'll likely need to replace the ipod you choose in a year anyway, so get the cheapest you can find.

not really , that is the most obvious difference but the nano has the most availiable accessories of the ipod family i. also you can get much more storage for music , videos , and pictures up to 4 GIG ! I personally have the 30 gig which hold a lot but unfortunately has an internal harddrive much like a computer , the nano is a much more practical device for most people . BUY THE NANO you 'll love it .

Definitely nano....i was considering buying a shuffle before, but settled with nano, n im loving it....first of all, i need all my songs to be together, so 2GB does that for me, i need to listen to different songs depending on my mood which i cant do with shuffle, it plays songs at random and is very inconvinient...if u want to put it to use, like play music aloud at a party,etc...howre u gna sit lookin for dance numbers and such other things....so if money isnt a big factor, theres no competiton, nano rules

The shuffle only does random play. I prefer the nano, so I can set up songs in certain orders and playlists.

I would say the ipod shuffle because is it worth to have a screen for $70 more?

From what I have read, that's the only difference is the screen and the size of the flash drive.
