I stopped taking birth control in August. When I stopped taking it, the pack was not finished. I only took about 5 of them and then I stopped. Once I stopped, my period came on and it lasted for about 6 days, which is normal for me. My period usually lasts for six days. About two to three weeks later, my husbabnd and I made love, without using protection. I didnt think anything of it because I didnt think that I could get pregnant since I had just come off of the pill. So this month, September, I waited impatiently for my period to come on. It finally came on last friday, but it only lasted for three days. Does anyone know why this is? My husband thinks that I am pregnant. We have a one year old together and we decided to wait another year before having another child, that is why I got on the bc. With my last child, my period came on and lasted for 4 days, which made me think that I wasnt pregnant , but I still was. What do you guys think is going on??? Could it be my period trying....

adjust to not having the bc in my system or could it be something else? Has anyone or does anyone know someone who has had shorter length periods once she has gotten off the pill. My husband wanted me to take a pregnancy test to see, I took the test.... But I had my doubts because I knew that it would be too early to test....it came back negative. BUt this also happened with my first child.....The first time I tested to see whether I was pregnant the first time, the test came back negative. Does anyone have an idea of what is going on??? Please share your experiences.

If that was what happened the last time, I think you should get a test. Keep in mind that there is a higher risk of multiple births when becomming pregnant in the first month after stopping the pill. You can be very fertile during the transition or be onthe extreme other side. Being that you only took 5 pills in the pack and forced another period, your schedule may be way off. I would take a test and if it is negative, wait 2 weeks and take another. If your next period is late or "light", make an appointment with your OB/Gyn.

Good luck!

you could be and you couldn't be. It's hard to say. Take a test you will know. But your period will also be different because you stopped mid pack....Get a test, if it is not positive, your fine..but if you wanted to wait another year to get pregnant, why did you stop taking the pill? Well good luck, I hope this turns out how ever you would like.

You are most likely to get pregnant the first month off the pill. If your period was very light, it could be implantation. I would take a pregnancy test.

When you go off the pill, your body will go back to it's natural state. Most women have lighter periods on the pill and when they go off their periods are heavier again. I haven't heard of the opposite happening, but I guess it's possible. I would still take a pregnancy test though.

Good luck.

yes, you could be pregnant. i would definitely take a test so you can have peace of mind. ive done that with the pill before and it screwed up my period for the first 2 months or so. it could just be that too. everyone is different though. we are ready to conceive too but i have 2 weeks of the pill left and im finishing the pack first for that very reason! good luck to you :)

i doubt you pregnant....i would still take a test, that's the only way to REALLY know. Once you get off the pill and esp. if you stop before its over you can expect your periods to be a little messed up. Good luck!!

I think that you should call your doctor. You might what to get a blood test, just to make sure. Maybe your pregnant or maybe your body is adjusting to not being on the pill. Either way, Good luck!

Same thing happened to me and i was preg. I don't know why they say that it could take a while to get preg after going off the pill. In my opinion, it makes you more fertile. The bc pill is out of your system after just 24 hours so it makes sense why you can get preg so fast after stopping taking the pill

I'd go request blood work. You can get pregnatn anytime you have sex, even when on the pill. SO being off it definitly makes it possible for you to be pregnant.
